Timaru

Originally known as "Black & Feely Ltd", we were a building and joinery company which began in 1970.

In the late 1970's John Black recognised an opportunity in the Timaru area to manufacture and supply high pressure laminate bench tops for the local market. After experimenting with various methods for forming the laminate, John soon began producing his own formed laminate bench tops using machinery locally designed and produced by himself and his brother in law.

In the early 80's the business name was changed to Blacks Fabricators Ltd and continued to develop and supply HPL bench tops for the local market.

In 1998 Blacks Fabricators Ltd began working with Barry O'Brien and his Mosgiel factory, supplying us with their bench tops in pre-finished form to be finished in our factory here in Timaru. The business relationship that was formed with the O'Brien family continues to this day.

After his retirement in 2005, John Black passed his expertise on to three of his sons, Garry, Jeff and Pete to continue the business supplying top quality HPL work surfaces to the Timaru and South Canterbury area.

Now trading as "Black's Bench Top Specialists", we take pride in supplying a quality product and have provided thousands of work surfaces over the years. We also provide solid surface, stone, composite and stainless steel bench top options through our contact with the O'Brien network.
